Aspect Personnel are working with a council in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs to recruit a Senior Traffic Engineer for an initial 3 month contract.

You will be responsible for responding & investigation customer enquiries, assessing permits and overseeing the delivery of traffic and road safety capital works projects.

Employed as a Traffic Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Providing engineering recommendations to traffic, parking, road safety & public transport issues impacting the Council
• The development and review of traffic management plans 
• Traffic investigations 
• Assessing planning applications
• Responding to enquiries from local residents and clients.
• Identifying & providing recommendations on accident blackspots
• Customer service 

As the ideal candidate you will have/be:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant experience/qualifications
• Experience working as a Traffic or Transport Engineer preferably within Local Government
• Ability to prepare and review Traffic Management Plans
• Solid knowledge of Local Government traffic and transport procedures and policies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A current drivers license
