A Senior or Principal Statutory Planner is required on contract for 3 months at a council located 40 minutes southeast of Melbourne's CBD. Due to a number of staff on leave, the Statutory Planning department are seeking a Town Planner who has proven experience working ideally in the Victorian market managing a diverse planning portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Coordinator Statutory Planning, your primary role will involve managing and accessing planning permit applications for various development proposals.
More specifically, you will be assessing the following:
- Single dwellings and multi-unit developments
- Commercial and mixed-use
- Small/medium sized advertising signs
- Light Industrial and some change of use
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
- A sound knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and more specifically the Victorian legislation.
- Experience managing 30+ planning permits applications at one time. Predominately ResCode.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to provide a high level of customer service
- Excelled computer skills
