To support this ongoing growth, they’re now seeking a Civil Construction Engineer to join their team — someone who can bring technical skill, site experience, and strong communication to bridge the gap between design and delivery.
As a Civil Construction Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and supporting the delivery of land development and civil infrastructure projects during the tender and construction phases.
You’ll act as the key liaison between the design team, contractors, and authorities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This role suits a proactive engineer who enjoys working across both office and site environments, contributing to constructability, quality assurance, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and schedules prior to tender issue for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage tender processes – documentation, contractor liaison, queries, and assessment.
- Evaluate tenders for compliance, cost, and methodology, preparing recommendations.
- Conduct constructability reviews and identify design risks or value-engineering opportunities.
- Ensure all authority conditions, permits, and approvals are satisfied prior to commencement.
- Conduct and document regular site inspections to verify progress, quality, and compliance.
- Review progress claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOTs) for accuracy and validity.
- Prepare inspection reports, meeting minutes, and track project milestones.
- Coordinate RFIs and minor drawing updates between site teams and the design office.
- Undertake audits (e.g. MRWA) and assist with project close-out documentation and defect inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering(or equivalent).
- 3–8 years’ experience in civil infrastructure, land development, or authority works.
- You MUST have proven local experience in a construction engineering role at a consultancy.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and standards(MRWA, DTP, Austroads, local councils).
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration(progress claims, variations, EOTs).
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with contractors, consultants, and authorities.
- DAS accreditation or MRWA audit experience (highly regarded).
- Competent with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (for mark-ups), and PDF editing tools.
