About the role
Broadly speaking your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Apply Council’s Community Amenity Local Law, including education and enforcement relating to unsightly properties, abandoned vehicles, overhanging/obstructing vegetation, building site compliance, footpath trading, and all other Local Law matters.
- Undertake community education engagement to reduce illegal littering and take enforcement action against littering offences under the Environment Protection Act 2017.
- Efficiently and effectively respond to requests and complaints from members of the public, in accordance with standard policies and procedures (including Council’s Enforcement Policy).
- Undertake proactive education, patrols, and inspections throughout the municipality to improve city amenity and safety.
In order to succeed in this role you will have prior experience within a similar role including:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent qualification), or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience in a Local Government compliance role is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in a dynamic, customer-focused role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and general IT proficiency.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
