This company combines the capability of a larger organisation with the agility and culture of a close-knit team. They pride themselves on rolling up their sleeves, solving problems efficiently, and delivering tangible results that make a difference to both clients and communities.
About the Role:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects across the rail environment — managing delivery from concept through to completion. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and compliance with all network and regulatory requirements.
Depending on the scale and complexity, you may lead delivery directly or via a team, adapting your approach to suit each project’s needs. You’ll play a key role in securing and managing access to the rail corridor, coordinating with operators, asset owners, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Beyond day-to-day delivery, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the division’s future — contributing to pursuit planning, mentoring junior team members, and helping the business expand its footprint across the transport infrastructure sector.
About You:
You’ll bring a collaborative, hands-on leadership style and proven experience delivering infrastructure projects within rail or other access-controlled environments. You’ll be adept at balancing technical, commercial, and stakeholder priorities while maintaining a safety-first mindset.
As the ideal candidate you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management (or equivalent)
- Circa 5+ years’ experience managing infrastructure projects with end-to-end accountability
- Proven experience working in operational rail or similar regulated environments
- Strong understanding of project governance, safety, and access management requirements
- The ability to lead teams, mentor others, and build trusted client relationships
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication and organisation skills
You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values safety, agility, intelligence, pragmatism, and relationships.
A salary of between $140,000 and $160,000 is suggested for the role, though the salary ultimately offered will be commensurate with your experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a business where you can have a genuine impact — leading high-profile projects, shaping delivery frameworks, and contributing to a culture that truly values initiative and accountability.
