Join a forward-thinking engineering consultancy at the forefront of energy efficiency, sustainability and building performance across Australia. We’re looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing Building Services team and contribute to projects that support Net Zero outcomes, future-ready buildings, and sustainable infrastructure.
As a senior member of the building services group, you’ll lead the design and delivery of high-quality hydraulic systems for a wide range of projects including commercial, education, health, local government and infrastructure developments. You’ll collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical and sustainability engineers to deliver integrated, efficient, and innovative design solutions — from early concept through to construction and commissioning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading hydraulic design, documentation and coordination (water, sanitary, stormwater, gas, fire & trade waste systems)
- Managing project delivery from concept through to completion
- Working closely with clients, architects, and other consultants to deliver sustainable outcomes
- Supporting energy transition and Net Zero design principles in building systems
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior staff
- Liaising with contractors and stakeholders during design and construction phases
- Contributing to design reviews, tender documentation and project delivery
You’re an experienced engineer who enjoys leading projects, mentoring others, and seeing designs come to life. You’ll have a strong interest in sustainability and the future of the built environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- 5+ years’ experience in hydraulic design within the building services sector
- A background or experience in mechanical services highly regarded
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD or similar design tools
- Strong communication and coordination skills with clients and consultants
- CPEng or progress toward chartership preferred
- Work on diverse, sustainability-driven projects across Australia
