The role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part time Accounts Payable Clerk to join a small Finance Team within a respected construction company. 

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing
  • Accurately processing consultant and supplier invoices.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and posting payments in the ERP system (Jobpac).
  • Batching and executing payments in line with trading terms.
  • Organising ad-hoc payments when needed.
Reconciliation & Reporting
  • Reconciling supplier statements and AP ledgers regularly.
  • Monitoring subcontract claim compliance.
  • Assisting in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and aged payables analysis.
Supplier & Internal Communication
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve payment issues.
  • Supporting team members with Jobpac system enquiries.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Finance Team.
Compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations including GST and PAYG.
  • Assisting in audit preparation and documentation.
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a structured, high-accountability environment and has a genuine interest in the construction industry.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in AP
  • Experience with construction industry processes, such as progress claims and subcontractor payments, is highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping or similar qualification
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and Australian taxation requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
