An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Animal Management Officer to join a high-performing local government compliance team in Melbourne's West on a 3-month contract .
This hands-on role will see you delivering frontline animal management services, responding to community requests, investigating complaints and dog attacks, conducting proactive patrols, educating residents on responsible pet ownership, and enforcing relevant legislation.
You'll also be responsible for impounding and handling animals, preparing prosecution briefs where required, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with the wider Local Laws team to improve community safety and amenity.
What you'll bring :
- Experience in Animal Management, Local Laws or another regulatory compliance environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and investigation procedures.
- Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills.
- Confidence handling domestic animals in a range of situations.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence, Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Certificate IV in Animal Control & Regulation, Statutory Compliance, or equivalent experience (highly regarded).
