The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Landscape Architect to join a highly regarded Landscape Architectural studio, in a genuine leadership capacity.

This is a senior position suited to an established landscape architecture professional who has progressed beyond technical delivery and is ready to lead a studio, build a team and shape the direction of the practice's landscape work.

You will lead and mentor a landscape architecture team of 7, oversee the delivery of a diverse portfolio of award-winning projects, and act as a trusted point of contact for clients, collaborators and project stakeholders. This role carries a genuine pathway toward Associate Director and, in time, Director-level standing within the studio.

The role will suit someone who combines strong design and technical credibility with commercial acumen, project leadership and a real interest in developing people.

About the Role
Working across a diverse portfolio spanning public parks, education, civic and community precincts, transit-oriented development and streetscape projects, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading, mentoring and providing support to the architecture team.
  • Delegating projects and responsibilities effectively while maintaining oversight of design quality, deadlines and client outcomes.
  • Providing senior-level design and technical advice across complex, multidisciplinary development projects.
  • Managing projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring design, commercial and client objectives are achieved.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, collaborators, government agencies and other project stakeholders.
  • Applying a thorough understanding of landscape architecture practice and process to deliver commercially practical, human-centred outcomes.
  • Managing competing priorities, project deadlines, budgets and resources effectively.
  • Reviewing and maintaining high design standards across concept work, documentation, reports and project deliverables.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of graduate and mid-level landscape architects through coaching, guidance and exposure to complex projects.
  • Contributing to the broader leadership, culture and direction of the studio, working closely with Directors.
About You
You will be an experienced landscape architecture professional with a strong design background and a track record of leadership. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of landscape architects.
  • A track record managing projects across sectors such as public open space, education, civic, community or transit-oriented development.
  • Strong project management capability, including coordination with architects, urban designers and other technical consultants.
  • High commercial awareness and an understanding of project scope, budgets, resourcing, fees and profitability.
  • Confidence working directly with clients and providing senior-level design advice.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • A collaborative and personable leadership style with a genuine interest in developing others.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Senior leadership position within an established, award-winning studio.
  • Opportunity to lead and grow a landscape architecture team, with a genuine pathway to Associate and Director-level standing.
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of public and civic projects with real community impact.
  • Work closely with Directors, clients and senior industry stakeholders.
  • Join a collaborative, human-centred studio where your experience and design credibility will be valued.
  • An opportunity to progress your career beyond pure technical delivery into broader studio leadership.
