About the company

Our client is a well-established Melbourne building contractor delivering a diverse mix of projects from $50,000 through to $30 million — spanning retail new-build and fitout, refurbishment and reno works, and community, early learning, medical and leisure facilities. They've built a reputation for hands-on delivery and a genuinely varied project pipeline, which means no two months look the same.

This is an opportunity to join a business where you'll have real ownership of your projects, direct exposure to clients, consultants and subbies, and a clear path to grow into bigger and more complex work as you prove yourself.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full commercial and contractual lifecycle of projects, from a single job through to running multiple projects concurrently depending on value and complexity
  • Prepare and manage subcontracts, variations, progress claims and payment certificates
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors, both in the office and on site
  • Track program, budget and contractual risk in conjunction with the project team
  • Split your time roughly 75% office-based, 25% on site
Essential Requirements
  • Degree qualified (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar)
  • 3+ years' post-graduate CA experience within a building/construction contractor
  • Stable employment history
  • Confident, face-to-face communicator who's comfortable dealing directly with clients and trades
  • Strong work ethic and genuine drive to grow within the business
Desirable Extras
  • Experience on Tier 3/Tier 4 or government-type projects
  • Exposure to Cheops, Hammertech, Visibuild, Aconex or Procore
  • Background across a broad range of project types and sectors
What's on Offer
  • $90,000-$150,000 + super, depending on experience
  • Genuine variety across project type, scale and sector
  • Standard hours of 7am-5pm — no expectation of excessive overtime
  • Occasional Saturday work paid at hourly rates, submitted ad hoc
  • Direct line of sight to senior leadership and a clear growth trajectory
  • Note: this role is fully office/site based, with no work-from-home arrangement
