About the Role
Aspect Personnel is working with a well-established civil and infrastructure contractor seeking an Estimator to join its growing pre-contracts team.
  
This role will focus on pricing civil, demolition and environmental remediation works across infrastructure, industrial, utilities and brownfield project environments.
  
You will work closely with the Pre-Contracts Manager, Senior Estimators, Project Managers, Engineers and delivery teams to prepare accurate, buildable and commercially sound tenders.

Typical tender values range from $2M–$80M , with most work sitting across the $2M–$20M range. You will usually manage 2–3 tenders at a time , depending on size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare first-principles cost estimates across labour, plant, materials and production outputs
  • Complete quantity take-offs for demolition, earthworks, civil works, remediation and infrastructure packages
  • Develop BOQs, pricing schedules, estimate summaries, assumptions and commercial qualifications
  • Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports and tender documentation
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor RFQs, pricing comparisons, scope alignment and gap analysis
  • Assess risks, staging, methodology, access constraints, constructability and value engineering options  
Skills & Experience
  • Experience estimating within civil construction, demolition, remediation or infrastructure contracting
  • Strong understanding of first-principles estimating, rate build-ups, BOQs and quantity take-offs
  • Ability to interpret drawings, scopes, technical specifications and construction methodology
  • Exposure to remediation, contaminated land, decommissioning, asbestos, waste, dewatering or utilities is highly regarded
  • Experience using Expert Estimation or similar estimating software is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with delivery, commercial and project teams
