Multidisciplinary Building Services Consultancy is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Services Engineer/Designer to join their team permanently.

The Role - 
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fire Protection Services Engineer/Designer to join our multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing fire protection systems that ensure the safety and compliance of buildings across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities - 
  • System Design & Analysis: Develop comprehensive fire protection designs, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, smoke control systems, and emergency lighting, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards and codes.
  • Hydraulic Calculations & Layouts: Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare detailed system layouts using industry-standard software such Revit.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection systems seamlessly into building designs and construction processes.
  • Site Assessments & Compliance: Conduct site visits to assess existing systems, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements to meet safety standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and compliance certificates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest developments in fire protection technologies and regulations to ensure best practices are applied.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire protection design and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (e.g., AS 2118, AS 1670), and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and develop system layouts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
