Our client is a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong track record delivering water, flooding and infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Flood Modeler to join their Melbourne team on a permanent basis.
About the role
You'll take a lead technical role across a diverse portfolio of flood studies, drainage strategies and floodplain management projects for local government, state authorities and private developer clients. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-profile modeling projects while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the ongoing growth of the team.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 7-8 years' local experience in a consulting environment, with a strong background in flood and hydraulic modeling
- Demonstrated, hands-on expertise as a proven user of TUFLOW - this is essential
- Experience across the broader flood modeling toolkit is highly regarded, including HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS/XP-SWMM, ARR2019 and RFFE2019, along with GIS packages such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- A tertiary qualification in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering (or similar)
- Strong report writing and client-facing communication skills
- The ability to work independently while also supporting and mentoring less experienced team members
- Full working rights in Australia
