This is a 12 Month Fixed term contract opportunity for experienced planners to contribute to the long-term vision of a rapidly developing regional growth corridor.
Reporting to the Coordinator Growth Area Planning & Subdivision, you will:
- Lead the end-to-end assessment and coordination of major subdivision and development applications across key growth areas.
- Prepare high-quality statutory planning reports and recommendations.
- Provide expert planning advice to internal stakeholders, Councilors, and developers.
- Represent Council at VCAT and other planning forums.
- Negotiate and mediate complex planning matters to achieve practical, balanced outcomes.
- Contribute to the delivery of growth area planning strategies and precinct structure planning initiatives.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to planning staff.
- Strong statutory planning expertise and knowledge of the Victorian Planning Provisions.
- Experience managing complex planning applications within a growth or development-focused environment.
- Confidence in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence others.
- Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
- Sound judgement and decision-making capability.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and high-level customer service.
