This is a 12 Month Fixed term contract opportunity for experienced planners to contribute to the long-term vision of a rapidly developing regional growth corridor.

Reporting to the Coordinator Growth Area Planning & Subdivision, you will:
  • Lead the end-to-end assessment and coordination of major subdivision and development applications across key growth areas.
  • Prepare high-quality statutory planning reports and recommendations.
  • Provide expert planning advice to internal stakeholders, Councilors, and developers.
  • Represent Council at VCAT and other planning forums.
  • Negotiate and mediate complex planning matters to achieve practical, balanced outcomes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of growth area planning strategies and precinct structure planning initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to planning staff.
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong statutory planning expertise and knowledge of the Victorian Planning Provisions.
  • Experience managing complex planning applications within a growth or development-focused environment.
  • Confidence in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence others.
  • Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making capability.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and high-level customer service.
