The Opportunity
Reporting into the Coordinator Growth Area Planning & Subdivision, you will:
- Lead the end-to-end assessment and coordination of major housing estate subdivisions and commercial development applications for two Precinct Structure Plans; Drouin and Warragul.
- Prepare high-quality reports.
- Provide expert planning advice to Council and developer stakeholders
- Represent Council at VCAT.
- Negotiate and mediate complex planning matters across teams and developers to achieve practical outcomes.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives outlined in Precinct Structure Plans.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to planning staff.
- Strong statutory planning expertise and knowledge of the Victorian Planning Provisions.
- Experience managing complex planning applications.
- Confidence in negotiation, mediation and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and influence others.
- Exceptional report writing and communication skills.
- Sound judgement and decision-making capability.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and high-level customer service.
