The Company
This highly successful, locally owned contract manufacturer has produced personal care and household products for brands across Australia for decades. Its range covers liquids, gels, creams and lotions across skincare, haircare and homecare categories. Many of its contracts are stable and long-term, and it has a strong pipeline of work. The business partners with clients from product development through to filling and packaging.

They are now looking for an experienced Line Setter / Maintenance Fitter to support production during a busy pre-Christmas period.

The Role
As the Line Setter / Maintenance Fitter, you’ll keep the batching, liquid filling and packaging equipment running reliably across the production lines. Your day-to-day work will span line setting, changeovers between product runs, breakdowns and preventative maintenance. Contract manufacturing means frequent changeovers across different products, viscosities and pack formats, so quick, accurate line setting is key.

There’s also scope to make a lasting impact. That includes shaping the maintenance planning schedule and helping set up systems for critical spare parts and inventory control. You’ll work closely with production leadership to reduce downtime and keep the lines performing. This is a day shift role.

The Person:
As the successful candidate you will have:
  • A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, or a Mechanical Engineering background combined with a willingness to stay hands-on
  • Experience in liquid batch-blending and filling operations; personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, chemical or FMCG backgrounds are highly regarded
  • Strong line setting and changeover capability across varied products and pack formats
  • Sound fault-finding and breakdown response skills
  • Experience planning and scheduling preventative maintenance
  • Experience setting up or managing critical spares and inventory control systems
  • An engineering mindset, with a focus on root-cause analysis, reliability and continuous improvement
  • The ability to hit the ground running and work autonomously with minimal handover
  • Availability to start immediately and commit through to the Christmas break
  • A full driver’s licence and a strong safety-first approach
