The Company
We're partnering with an established food processing operation known for its investment in automation, strong safety culture and focus on employee retention. The site runs a modern, high-volume production facility with a reliability-driven maintenance team and a genuine long-term, supportive team culture.
 
Due to continued growth and investment in technology, this site is looking to add experienced Maintenance Fitters to their maintenance team.
 
The Roles
Working closely with the maintenance, production and quality teams, you'll help keep a 24/7 processing facility running safely and efficiently through preventative maintenance, fast breakdown response and continuous improvement.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance across processing and packaging equipment
  • Fault finding, diagnostics and mechanical repairs
  • Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Rapid response to mechanical breakdowns in a live production environment
  • Supporting plant upgrades and equipment installations
  • Maintaining equipment in line with HACCP and food safety standards, and wash-down/biosecurity protocols
  • Accurately completing work orders via CMMS and maintaining detailed shift handovers
  • Contributing to safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment
Both Afternoon and Night Shift opportunities are available, generally aligning to approximately 1:00pm-9:00pm and 9:00pm-5:00am (exact times may vary and will be confirmed during recruitment). Shift penalties apply, with overtime opportunities also available.
 
About You
To be successful, you will have:
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Mechanical Fitter qualification or equivalent (essential)
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • A proactive, reliable and safety-first approach, with a commitment to food quality standards
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Experience in food manufacturing, meat/poultry processing or FMCG, exposure to automated production systems, wash-down environments, welding/fabrication skills, or a Forklift/EWP licence (highly regarded, not essential)
