This well-established manufacturing business operates a large-scale, high-volume food processing facility in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. Running across a 24-hour, 5-day operation, the site is known for its robust production output, strong engineering capability, and a collaborative, team-driven culture.
With continued growth and a focus on operational excellence, two key positions have become available within the site's maintenance function.
The Roles
1. Maintenance Planner & Scheduler
2. Maintenance Inventory Lead
The Planner & Scheduler role will suit a more experienced professional with deep planning capability, while the Inventory Lead role offers an excellent pathway for someone earlier in their career looking to step into a critical site function. These roles will report into the Head of Engineering and work in tandem alongside an Industrial Services Engineer and form part of a high-performing maintenance and engineering team.
Key responsibilities across both roles include:
- Leading and supporting TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives across site
- Planning and scheduling maintenance activities up to a 4-week forward horizon
- Creating, issuing, and overseeing work orders, including scope, labour, and materials
- Coordinating closely with engineers, trades, and production teams to optimise plant performance
- Holding trades and contractors accountable to timelines and quality of delivery
- Managing technical parts inventory, including min/max levels, replenishment, and lead times
- Building and maintaining strong vendor and supplier relationships
- Driving reliability and efficiency across maintenance and inventory processes
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- 3+ years proven experience within high-volume manufacturing (food/dairy highly regarded)
- Proficient in CMMS systems (preferably MEX)
- Strong exposure to maintenance planning, scheduling, or inventory control
- Experience working within TPM frameworks and continuous improvement environments
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with engineering teams and production stakeholders
- Strong vendor management and supplier engagement capability
- Solid understanding of inventory systems, replenishment strategies, and lead time management
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, 24/5 production environment
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
