The Role
The business is seeking a Principal Town Planner with 10+ years of experience in urban planning (with experience in Queensland). The successful candidate will work independently and alongside the directors to provide expert planning services and manage significant projects across various sectors whilst supporting the growth and expertise of the business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Development Advice – Work with clients to understand their objectives and provide tailored planning solutions.
- Planning Permits & Amendments – Lead the preparation, strategy, and management of planning applications and scheme amendments.
- Project & Stakeholder Management – Engage with councils, government agencies, and community stakeholders to negotiate outcomes and navigate approvals.
- Strategic & Commercial Planning – Provide feasibility studies, due diligence, and front-end project management services to maximise commercial returns.
- Leadership & Mentorship – Support all team members and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the business.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a strong background in urban planning (public or private sector) and a relevant university degree.
- Be commercially focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions.
