I’m recruiting on behalf of a specialist design and engineering consultancy with a proven track record delivering complex, buildable solutions across the food & beverage, dairy, and manufacturing sectors . With a growing pipeline of large-scale industrial projects, they’re looking for a technically minded Design Manager to join the team in a senior capacity.
This is a role for someone who’s confident navigating the full project lifecycle from feasibility and town planning through to construction. You’ll be responsible for overseeing documentation quality, liaising with authorities and clients, and providing technical leadership to internal teams.

The Role:
- Manage and coordinate design and documentation through all project stages—from feasibility to delivery.
- Oversee and produce Revit-based documentation for town planning, permitting, and construction.
- Lead council and authority liaison , ensuring compliance with planning and building regulations.
- Engage directly with clients, consultants, engineers, and builders to resolve technical challenges and drive outcomes.
- Provide on-site construction support , attend inspections, and resolve issues in real time.
- Mentor junior team members, contribute to QA processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven project experience in food, beverage, dairy, or manufacturing facilities .
- 10+ years’ experience in building design, architectural drafting or industrial design management .
- Proven project experience in food, beverage, dairy, or manufacturing facilities .
- Registration as a VBA Building Practitioner or RPE-qualified engineer (essential).
- Strong capability in Revit and design documentation tools.
- Demonstrated experience in town planning coordination and managing planning submissions.
- Confident in dealing with councils, authorities and clients , with a strong ability to manage expectations and approvals.
- Practical understanding of construction detailing and buildability, with experience providing support through delivery.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Lead significant industrial design projects with real-world complexity and scale .
