The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. This is a hands-on role that combines technical excellence, project leadership and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to construction.
- Design power, lighting, emergency lighting, communications, security and specialist electrical systems.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, hydraulic, fire and structural engineering teams.
- Manage client relationships and attend design and project meetings.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and designers.
- Undertake site inspections and provide construction phase support.
- Ensure projects comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and relevant statutory requirements.
- Sign off on designs where required.
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years' experience within a Building Services consulting environment.
- Registered Building Practitioner (Electrical Engineer) - essential.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code.
- Proven experience delivering complex Building Services projects across multiple sectors.
- Strong project management and client-facing experience.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and electrical design software.
- Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills.
- CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation is highly regarded.
