This role is ideal for a Senior Interior Designer who enjoys the commercial side of design and wants to be closely involved in the delivery of projects, not just the design process.
Working within a D&C environment, you will have genuine influence over the design, documentation, materials, finishes and delivery of workplace projects, balancing strong design outcomes with programme, budget and buildability requirements.
You will be involved in:
- Leading the interior design of workplace and commercial fit-out projects from concept through to completion
- Developing design concepts, presentations, finishes palettes and material selections
- Producing and reviewing detailed design and documentation packages
- Working closely with clients to understand their brief and translate it into practical design solutions
- Collaborating with project managers, estimators, contractors, consultants and suppliers
- Coordinating design outcomes with construction and buildability requirements
- Attending client and site meetings throughout project delivery
- Managing multiple projects and priorities across different stages
- Supporting the development of junior designers and contributing to the wider design team
- Ensuring projects are delivered to a high design standard while meeting programme and budget requirements
You will ideally have:
- 6+ years' professional interior design experience
- Strong experience delivering workplace and commercial fit-out projects
- Experience working within a D&C, contractor or highly delivery-focused environment
- Strong understanding of design development, documentation and construction processes
- Excellent knowledge of finishes, materials and furniture specifications
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software, ideally including Revit
- A strong understanding of budgets, programme and buildability
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
- Work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality workplace and commercial projects
