We are looking for a Senior Interior Designer to lead the design of international and interstate luxury hotel and high-end residential projects. This is a design role with a strong project leadership component: you will review and understand drawings in detail, carry out hands-on design work, and hold and run projects yourself from brief through to delivery.
You will also lead and coordinate a team based overseas, so strong communication, clear direction and confident leadership across time zones are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold and run projects independently, managing scope, programme, deliverables and client communication
- Lead interior design work, primarily on luxury hotel and high-end residential projects
- Review, interpret and check drawings for accuracy, coordination and design intent
- Lead and direct an overseas team, setting priorities, allocating work and maintaining quality
- Coordinate with consultants, clients and stakeholders across international and interstate projects
- Attend site as required to review progress and resolve design and construction issues
- Apply local codes and regulations to ensure project documentation is compliant
You are a senior interior designer with strong technical ability, equally comfortable reading a set of drawings and running a project on your own.
- Strong technical ability, with the skill to review and understand drawings in detail
- Proven experience holding and running projects independently
- Experience leading or coordinating teams remotely, ideally overseas
- Senior-level interior design experience in luxury hotel and/or high-end residential projects
- Site experience, which is useful
- Knowledge of local codes and regulations, which is highly regarded
- Clear communicator with strong organisation and attention to detail
- $95k-$120K+ super
