Working within a collaborative City Design team, you'll take the lead on a diverse portfolio of parks, streetscapes, activity centres and open space projects, while providing specialist design advice and mentoring junior staff.

About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator City Design, you'll be responsible for:
  • Leading the design and delivery of landscape architecture and urban design projects from concept through to construction.
  • Managing capital works projects, consultants and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Preparing landscape designs, plans and technical documentation to a high standard.
  • Providing expert advice on contemporary landscape architecture and urban design principles.
  • Undertaking community and stakeholder engagement throughout project delivery.
  • Monitoring project budgets, timelines and capital works programs.
  • Reviewing design documentation and maintaining high design standards across the team.
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
About you

To be successful, you'll ideally have:
  • Local government experience will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a senior landscape architecture role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering parks, streetscapes, open space and public realm projects.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working within a local government environment will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software.
