We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary building services design team delivering complex and high-profile projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading mechanical design delivery, managing project packages, and working closely with clients and project teams to deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

This role requires a strong technical background in building services, combined with the ability to manage projects, guide junior engineers, and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical building services design from feasibility through to construction and project completion.
  • Deliver HVAC and mechanical system designs including calculations, specifications, and coordinated documentation.
  • Manage selected projects or design packages to meet programme, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines, architects, and project stakeholders to ensure integrated design outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Review engineering documentation and ensure designs meet relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Support project planning, resource allocation, and commercial aspects of project delivery.
  • Project exposures: Residential (Apartments, mixed use), Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Transport, Industrial & Government.
Experience & Skills
  • Significant experience in mechanical building services engineering within a consulting environment.
  • Proven ability to lead mechanical design across complex building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, and building services coordination.
  • Experience managing project packages, resources, and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and building codes.
  • Proficiency with industry design tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms.
