You will be joining a joining a PM Consultancy and working closely with their client within the Data Centre sector.
This consultancy has already established key relationships with a wide variety of clients through the impressive networks of the directors, each with over 15 years’ experience working within senior management positions with highly regarded, Melbourne based, consultancies and contractors.
They’ve developed a wide portfolio spanning across multiple sectors, including; Build to Rent Residential, Commercial, Education, Retail, Student Accommodation, Healthcare, Civic, Sports & Rec, Data Centres, and, Aviation.

Your New Role:
The Project Manager – Services plays a critical role in the ability to achieve the project goals by understanding how equipment integrates to deliver a buildable, operable, maintainable, and sustainable data centre.
The role reports directly to the Project Director.
You will be responsible for reviewing consultant and contractor designs, providing feedback, and working with the Principal Contractor and their sub-contractors to implement and test the designs to the satisfaction of the Independent Commissioning Agent.
It is the Project Manager – Services role to assist the Principal Contractor any equipment integration-related issues that arise and communicate changes to all stakeholders whether internally or externally.
You will support the Project Director in the timely delivery of each project.
Working closely with the Project Team [Development and Design, Facilities Management, Supply Agreements, and Contractors/ Authorities] to confirm all the equipment can be ordered, delivered, installed, tested, and maintained and the associated activities are captured and sequenced in the project programme.
  
Responsibilities include:
  • Design and Procurement:
    • o Lead and manage all services-related tasks.
    • o Manage services design and procurement, ensuring adherence to the design brief, quality standards, and budget.
    • o Oversee the authorities' strategy and tracker.
    • o Manage the Early Works Contract from inception to transition or novation.
  • Monitor service installation, rectifying defects, and achieving satisfactory completion.
  • Co-ordination of Free issue equipment design, interface, deliveries and programme finalisation
    • o Secure all necessary approvals before construction.
  • Project Communication & Reporting:
    • o Provide periodic project reports (monthly reviews, early warning register, authority register).
    • o Assist with internal progress reporting (monthly/weekly reports).
    • o Engage and communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • o Convene and manage services and relevant stakeholder meetings.
    • o Ensure timely delivery of coordinated information to stakeholders.
    • o Manage consultant appointments related to authority approvals.
  • Safety & Risk Management:
    • o Drive a safety-first culture throughout the project lifecycle.
    • o Ensure thorough safety management systems are implemented.
    • o Contribute to risk and opportunity registers related to authorities.
  • Project Progress & Delivery:
    • o Track authority-related tasks and identify potential risks/opportunities.
    • o Assist the Project Director with progress reporting on authorities and stakeholder matters.
  • Oversee the transition from ECI to Principal Contractor or novation of the Early Works contract.
  
Job Requirements:
To be suitable for this role, you must have the following:
  • A degree in a relevant field such as project management, engineering, or construction management.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Building Services/Service Management within either a Head Contractor, Client Side or Engineering Consultancy.
  • Ideally you will have completed projects within the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and/or Healthcare sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead and manage teams, delegate tasks, and make decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local construction industry and a strong knowledge of the Victorian Building Codes.
