Operating for over 20 years, this Melbourne-based engineering and construction firm has developed an enviable reputation within the Australian infrastructure and transport industries.
The client offers a challenging mix of structural renewal/design projects as well as complex engineering investigations including inspections, structural assessment, load rating and modification/strengthening strategies.
The Role
You will play a key role in pricing and estimating key rail infrastructure remediation projects valued from $250k - $2.5 million covering the following requirements:
- A good understanding of government rail infrastructure stakeholders and authorities
- Proven experience as an Estimator or QS in the rail construction or infrastructure industry (2-10 years)
- Strong knowledge of construction materials (concrete and steel), methods, and cost estimation principles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
- Expert application of Excel is a must.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related field
- Strong level of autonomy
