The role will be for a minimum of 4 months, on a full-time basis, subject to possible extension after the tenure length.
Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Town Planning or an associated discipline.
- A minimum of 2 or more years of experience working in a Local Government Planning department.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong ability to negotiate and influence outcomes, and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Expert knowledge on the Victorian Planning Scheme.
- You'll be responsible for assessing a wide range of planning applications and managing a case load.
- Provide clear, prompt advice to the general public and council staff relating to planning and the use and development of land.
- Supervise and participate in the critical analysis and evaluation of planning permit applications as well as other relevant planning requests and/or proposals to amend the planning scheme.
- Prepare information and brief Senior Management, Councilors and/or elected representatives as requested.
- Mentor, motivate and assist Student Statutory Planners with their career development and general Planning knowledge within the department.
Rates of pay may very depending on experience, however, expect anywhere from $40.00 - $50.00 per hour + super.
