You will be responsible for the management of councils ESM program across a portfolio of council community buildings and facilities.
- Coordinate inspections and audits of building essential safety measures (ESM) systems, including fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire hydrants
- Provide recommendations and advice on ESM compliance and maintenance
- Prepare reports and documentation on ESM inspections and audits
- Maintain accurate records of ESM systems and conduct regular checks to ensure ongoing compliance
- Coordinate ESM upgrades and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, including the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the National Construction Code (NCC)
- Proven experience as an Essential Safety Measures Advisor/Coordinator or similar role
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and audits of ESM systems
- Experience working within or for local government desirable
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
