- Hybrid role/ 2 days in the office
- Hourly rate depending on experience - Starting from $70 p/h
- Start date ASAP but flexible for right candidate
- Drainage, asset protection overlays, waterways/drainage, greenfield and regional council experience favored.
- Must be able to hit the ground running.
- Must be able to manage your own case load, and confident with dealing customer queries.
- Verbal and written communication must be to a high standard.

This role will work closely with the Development Engineering and Planning Team, and other teams. Deal with stakeholders where necessary to negotiate, determine/make recommendations on technical engineering and planning determinations regarding best practice Planning, Building and Development Design that meets the standards.
The role will involve negotiation, advocacy, influencing and presentation skills.
This is a general urban planning, building surveying & development role where knowledge qualification and experience in statutory urban planning, building consents and development engineering for water is needed to succeed.
This role requires the following:
Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Building Surveying or closely related discipline. Registered Planner with statutory planning and building strongly preferred.
Previous experience in decision making in complex Victorian Statutory Decision Making, the Victorian Planning and Building Schemes, Acts and Regulations and associated activities related to Urban Planning and Development required.
Understanding and continuous professional development in the urban planning and development industry as they relate to floodplain management, waterway management and drainage, asset protection, building design required.
Previous experience in interpreting and applying Planning, Development, Building and Engineering complex advice and standards to all types of cases and land scenarios including lead decisions at VCAT, Ombudsman, BAB etc required.
Project, workload and delegated decision making management experience required.
A current Victorian driver’s licence.
