You will be joining the newly revamped Capital Works team within a leading, Tertiary Institution, where you’ll be based here in Melbourne but also have campuses in Sydney and Brisbane, where they offer in-person and online courses that serve over 40,000 students, including 14,000 international students.
Within this, they have academic colleges, each covering a broad discipline of study, and several research institutes and research centres.

Your New Role
Within this role, you will be joining an intimate team of 3, where you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Associate Director, while also enjoying an autonomous role running your own Capital Works projects, generally up to $1million in value each.
Alongside this, you will also work as part of a wider group across their Facilities Management, I.T. and Real Estate Divisions.
Within this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing Capital Works projects within the campuses through the complete project lifecycle, including design and delivery.
- Managing projects within live environments, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that projects run smoothly alongside limiting disruption to those using the university and ensuring the health and safety of staff, students, visitors and contractors.
- The coordination, preparation (where applicable) and administration of various types of contracts and agreements for assigned projects in accordance with the terms and conditions, including the timely management and administration of financial accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all University governance and relevant legislative requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Ideally, you will be a Project Manager who has gained over 5 years’ experience within the industry and a proven track record of managing projects of $1million or more in value, through all project stages.
Experience within the Tertiary Education space would be highly desirable, however experience within other forms of education and/or healthcare would also be of interest.
A relevant qualification within Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
Strong understanding and expertise in project management methodologies to deliver built infrastructure, with proven ability to plan, develop, implement and review programs/projects
Strong knowledge of property management and regulatory requirements in the building industry (including National Construction Code NCA, Building Code of Australia BCA, Victorian Building Regulations, WorkCover, OH&S).
Excellent communication skills, alongside a strong ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships.
