Your primary purpose in this position is to:
• Under the direction of the Coordinator Open Space Planning & Sustainability, provide public open space and public realm design advice and services that support the design and delivery of the Open Space and Urban Design portfolio of projects, undertaking community consultation and liaison with internal and
external stakeholders.
• Prepare concept designs, project briefs, design documentation, specifications, and tender/quotation documents to deliver high quality, sustainable public open space, playgrounds and recreation design and construction projects on time, to scope and within agreed budgets
• Provide professional landscape architecture design expertise to project sponsors, strategic and statutory planners, internal departments, Councillors, and the community.
• Assist in the on-site delivery and contract management of open space and public realm projects in accordance with Council’s approved plans and specifications, including environmental, occupational health and safety, risk management requirements and procurement policy.
• Actively influence and contribute to other strategies, policies and plans across Council and provide advice and recommendations on open space and associated public realm improvements, including participating
in the achievement of the Strategic & Environmental Planning Department's annual business plan and long-term team goals and objectives.
