As you may be aware, Aspect Personnel ran a clothing drive before Christmas, to support the organisation ‘Fitted For Work’. Fitted for Work is an Australian charity that provides advice, interview preparation and a personal clothing outfitting service to disadvantaged women in order to help them to secure employment.
Our target was to collect 1000 items of corporate clothing and I’m delighted to say, that with the help and generosity of some of our clients, we collected 1154 items! An excellent result!
So on Friday afternoon, a kind taxi driver helped us to load his maxi-taxi and deliver the collection to the ladies at Fitted For Work. The staff at the QV Women’s Centre could not believe their eyes when we started unloading everything!
We were then shown around the centre, and were particularly impressed by the set-up of their clothing boutique and fitting rooms, which gives a real ‘shopping’ experience. Clothing items are hung in sections and further size ordered. Jewellery, handbags, scarves, shoes and tights (provided by Levante) are also available to complete the outfits.
It’s been great to support such a valuable organisation, who were undoubtedly so thankful for the support from us and our clients. Watch this space for next December’s clothing campaign!
